Choose
to Move: Journal #11
Oct. 8, 2002
This
has been quite a week for me.
I joined Weight Watchers and lost 5.2 pounds in my first
week. Not a bad start, especially considering I also
celebrated my 33rd birthday — and believe me, I celebrated!
Plus I went out to dinner three times, but I guess I
was finally motivated to eat right.
Then to start this week out right, I had a stress test.
What a joy.
But the doctor and nurses all were very nice and I found
out that my heart is fine, but I’m out of shape. (Which
I already knew.) They said I’m deconditioned — a very
politically correct term for couch potato.
But now I’m truly ready to tackle this struggle with
my weight. I am much more motivated than in the recent
past and have made some major changes. As a matter of
fact, I spent $182 on groceries when I joined Weight
Watchers.
I am prepared for any eating emergency. I have frozen
dinners, great salad toppings, and snacks for all occasions:
baked potato chips, low-fat popcorn, Weight Watchers
desserts and probably just about any other low-fat food
you can think of.
I am armed and ready for battle.
