Q:
What do part A and part B of Medicare mean?
A:
There are two parts that comprise Medicare benefits.
Generally, part A is free if you are 65 or older and
you or your spouse have worked and paid Medicare taxes.
If you don't meet specific criteria for Part A eligibility,
it is possible to buy Part A.
Part
A typically pays for in-hospital care, some skilled
nursing facility care, some home health care, and some
hospice care.
Medicare
part B covers doctors' services, out-patient services,
some durable medical equipment, and some home health
care. The cost is $54 a month which is usually taken
out of your social security checks. If you do not receive
these checks, Medicare can bill you.
